Brought back by Leonard Crofoot, Private in Co. D., 327 Glider Infantry (507th Paratroop Co. F) and also a pathfinder and paratrooper specializing in demolition during WW II in the European Theater with copy of photo of his unit (list of names of each member), copy of his Honorable Discharge, his Enlisted Record and Report of Separation and a write-up by his son concerning the gun and remembrances of his father. The gun is in overall very good to near fine condition showing considerable blue finish, an area of pitting on the left side of the barrel at the muzzle, very good bore, crisp action and markings; fine grips; mismatched magazine; holster is well-worn; second magazine has a wood base (also mismatched number). A somewhat scarce Luger bring-back by a soldier who saw service in Normandy, the Ardennes, Central Europe and the Rhineland campaigns and who received the Purple Heart, among other service decorations, for wounds received in action on 10 April 1945.
